TATA HARRIER

Tata will begin the deliveries of the BS6 Harrier from March 2020. The five-seat Harrier is available in five variants: XE, XM, XT, XZ, and XZ+ priced from Rs 13.69 lakh to Rs 20.15 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). Tata offers the BS6 Harrier with a new top-spec XZ+/XZA+ variant while the automatic gearbox is available with XMA, XZA, and XZA+ variants. Tata Harrier Powertrain and Transmission: It comes with a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter diesel engine that makes 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. Tata Harrier Features: It gets a host of new features such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-tone alloy wheels, auto-dimming IRVM, powered driver seat, and a new exterior red shade with a black roof. What’s more, it now gets ESP as standard across all variants.

TOYOTA FORTUNER 

 The Fortuner is now powered by BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engines and attracts a premium of Rs 48,000 across all variants. It is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options with prices ranging from Rs 28.66 lakh to Rs 34.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Its 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel variant returns 177PS of power and 420Nm of torque with the 6-speed manual, while the automatic transmission-equipped versions offer an extra 30Nm of torque. The 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol variant is good for 166PS and 245Nm, which is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox with an option of an automatic transmission as well. It is available in 2WD configuration only, whereas the diesel gets both 2WD and 4WD options.

MAHINDRA XUV500

Mahindra has launched the BS6 version of the XUV500. The BS6-compliant XUV500 is available in four variants: W5, W7, W9, and W11(O). They have priced between Rs 13.2 lakh and Rs 17.7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The earlier base-spec W3 and the top-spec W11(O) AT variants have been discontinued. It is now offered with a BS6-compliant 2.2-liter diesel engine that continues to put out 155PS of power and 360Nm of torque. The SUV is now offered only with a 6-speed MT gearbox and a 2WD option. The automatic and AWD (all-wheel-drive) variants have been discontinued. The XUV500 is offered with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6-way adjustable driver seat, a sunroof, and cruise control. Standard safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

TOYOTA LAND CRUISER PRADO

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a high-end SUV powered by a 3.0-liter diesel engine, which is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Land Cruiser Prado also comes with an all-wheel-drive system to tackle off-road terrain. Occupants are seated in comfort, owing to the 3 zone climate control catering to the driver, co-driver, and rear passengers. Along with the climate control, the Land Cruiser Prado also has electronically folding seats with a 50:50 split for the third row in case luggage has to be accommodated. The car measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width and 1,880 mm in height. With a wheelbase of 2,790 mm, the Land Cruiser Prado can accommodate six adults in all three rows comfortably. Despite its wide dimensions, the SUV has a minimum turning radius of 5.8 meters that makes it relatively maneuverable.

LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR

Jaguar Land Rover has begun manufacturing the Range Rover Velar in India. This has led to a reduction in price and the size of the variant list. Know more about it here. Land Rover is offering the Range Rover Velar in a single variant - the R-Dynamic S. it is priced at Rs 72.47 lakh (ex-showroom India) for both petrol and diesel versions. Land Rover offers the Range Rover Velar in India with one petrol and one diesel engine. A petrol engine is a 2.0-liter unit that makes 250PS of power and 365Nm of torque. The diesel engine too is a 2.0-liter unit that produces 180PS and 430Nm. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that drives all four wheels. The Range Rover Velar comes with a premium Meridian Sound System (380W), a four-zone climate control, cabin air ionization, premium leather interiors, LED headlights and DRLs, park assist, and more. It goes up against the Jaguar F-Pace, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and the BMW X6.

MAHINDRA SCORPIO

Mahindra has revealed the specifications of the BS6 Scorpio and has also announced the price of its different variants. Deliveries of the BS6 Scorpio will take place once the coronavirus lockdown is lifted. The BS6 Scorpio is available in four variants: S5, S7, S9, and S11. Mahindra will continue to be offered in 7-, 8-, and 9-seating configurations. Mahindra is offering the Scorpio with a BS6-compliant 2.2-liter diesel engine that churns out 140PS and 320Nm. While the new S5 base variant is being offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, the S7, S9, and S11 variants will come mated to a 6-speed MT gearbox. The BS6 Scorpio continues to get cruise control, auto AC, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and AUX connectivity, and auto headlamps with LED DRLs. Standard safety features on offer include dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS, and speed alert. While the Scorpio uses a ladder-frame chassis and has no direct rivals as such, you can check out other similarly priced SUVs such as Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos that use a monocoque chassis.
